Delhi Metro planned for Wheel-less trains

On Wednesday Dec 7th Rajya Sabha informed that, The government is planning to introduce magnetic levitation wheel-less trains on the Delhi Metro.

Minister of state for urban development Saugata Roy, in a written reply, said: "The Delhi Metro proposes to introduce the wheel-less trains. The introduction of Maglev technology of Metro connectivity by DMRC is only at a conceptual stage for the present." 

The Maglev technology uses magnetic levitation to suspend, guide and propel mass rapid systems. 

In reply to another question,Saugata Roy said Metro projects have been sanctioned for Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad and the service would be started in the next few years.
