Boeing 787 maiden flight tickets fetch $31,500 for two

PlainAll Nippon Airways (ANA) first Boeing 787 Dreamliner touched down in Tokyo with hundreds of aviation fans welcoming the carbon-composite plane that its American maker is fielding, albeit three years late, to keep rival Airbus out of its best market.

A ticket for two seats on the inaugural flight of ANA's Boeing 787 Dreamliner has been sold for a whopping A$32,700 on eBay. The unnamed traveler won the ticket for two seats on the October 26 Tokyo to Hong Kong, a three and a half an hour journey flight in an auction. The winning bid was for $32,700 Australian dollars, or about $31,500 U.S., reports Australian Business Traveler. The proceeds of the auction will go to Conservation International Japan.
