Amar gets freedom till September 19

AmarSinghSpecial Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal of Delhi today granted an interim bail for the former Samajwadi party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mr Amar Singh on health grounds till September 19.

Delhi police arrested him on September 6 when he had appeared in the special court on receiving summons in the 2008 cash for vote scam. The 55 year old leader was admitted to the AIIMS on September 12 following complaints of vomiting and diarrhea.

After scrutinizing the medical reports sent by the AIIMS and the Tihar jail authorities, the special court granted him interim bail on furnishing a personal bond of Rs. 2 lakh and a surety of the same amount.

The court also asked Amar Singh to submit his passport to the court officials and not leave Delhi without its permission. The judge then adjourned hearing on his regular bail plea to September 19.
