Anti-corruption crusader and Gandhian Anna Hazare, who was on a seventh day of his indefinite fast demanding a stronger Lok Pal Bill, today made it clear that he was ready to hold talks with either Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh or congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on the Lok Pal issue.
“No one has contacted us for talks but if such a situation arises, we will talk to only PM or Rahul Gandhi and no body else please,” he said.
He asserted that his close aids would also participate in the talks and there would not be any talks with mediators. Anna was responding to the reports that the PM was looking for consensus through a dialogue on the issue of Lok Pal Bill.
Meanwhile, support from several quarters of the society was still pouring in across the country to the agitation launched by Anna Hazare to end corruption in the country.
On the seventh day of his fast, the 64-year old Gandhian has lost 5 kg of weight raising concerns about his deteriorating health. Thousands of people are camping in the Ramlila Maidan where Hazare is on fast.
