Clemency petitions of Rajiv killers rejected

LTTE-TERRIOSTEven as the copy of the judgment of the state high court asking the CBI officials to launch a full-fledged investigation into the alleged illegal wealth of the YSR Congress chief Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy reached their office, senior CBI officials went into a huddle to discuss the registration of criminal cases against Jagan and others.

A special team of CBI officials, who conducted preliminary investigation into the allegations against Jagan, discussed the issue with the Joint Director Mr Lakshminarayana for nearly four hours on the steps to be taken by them now in the light of the High Court’s order.

Sources revealed that the CBI officials may register criminal cases against Jagan and some other people in the next 24 hours under the Anti Corruption Act and also under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.

The investigating team is said to be preparing the list of people to be questioned in the Jagan case and also in the case related to the Emaar illegalities in the land allotments.
