dead(mumbia)The death toll in the triple bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai on July 13 has risen to 19 with one more person succumbing to injuries in the hospital on Friday.

130 persons, who sustained injuries with 20 of them being seriously injured, are being treated in various hospitals of Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan told a national TV channel that he could not contact his officials for fifteen minutes after the triple blasts as the mobile networks were jammed.

“The breakdown of communication system for as long as 15 minutes is not acceptable and we are now trying to put to use the radio wireless communication and the state wide VHF for back up facilities,” he said.

Saying that he can understand the people’s anger, the chief minister said that the government will now try to put in place a credible security system to prevent the recurrence of terrorist attacks on Mumbai city and on its people.
