Type 1 diabetes patients are at greater risk of developing dementia, according to a study performed by the lead author Rachel Whitmer. To find this, the researchers reviewed records of more than 490,000 who were over 60 years old and had no history of dementia as of 2002. They found that 16 percent of the people with type 1 diabetes developed dementia while in the rest of the group 12 percent of people developed the disease. When researchers examined only type 1 diabetes patients by eliminating type 2 patients, they found that four percent more of people with type 1 diabetes than the whole sample developed all-cause dementia which was a real increase in the risk.“Type 1 diabetes is a disease that requires constant vigilance and constant self-care and 83 percent of people suffering from it were more likely to develop dementia as seniors” Rachel noted. The findings will be presented at Alzheimer's Association International Conference, in Washington D.C. and are being viewed as preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed journal.By Lizitha

Srimanthudu promotional strategy like Baahubali! July 28, 2015 13:12

As Srimanthudu is nearing its release, just like Baahubali, the Srimanthudu movie team is making their best efforts for promoting the film. Regarding this, the makers have released Srimanthudu new images, in which Mahesh is spotted in different looks. Along with Mahesh, Jagapathi Babu and Sruthi Haasan images too are trending in the social networking sites. After starting the second innings, Jagapathi Babu is spotted in utmost stylish avatar in this film. Srimanthudu new images reveal this fact perfectly. Even Sruthi Haasan is spotted in several attires. Within few hours of release of Srimanthudu audio, the songs went viral and most of them are found instantly hit.   The promotion style of Baahubali worked out well and in fact, that is one of the reasons, which took the audience to have a special look towards Baahubali. In the same way, Srimanthudu team is planning to market their film. Before the movie release, the makers are planning to promote the film in several other ways like releasing the special trailers, introducing the characters in the film, giving the special interviews etc.       But however, the critics say that, Srimanthudu might not cross Baahubali records. However, it would be meaningless when a universal content oriented film like Baahubali is related with Srimanthudu. Hope Mahesh Srimathudu too will have a good run at the box office.By Phani

Rishiteshwari case: Why is Naidu, KCR, Jagan silent? July 28, 2015 12:46

In spite of Rishiteshwari suicide went very viral, the top three leaders of Telugu states are still silent. Let us explore the reasons behind their silence on Rishiteshwari issue. Why is Naidu silent on Rishiteshwari case? It is Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is supposed to respond to Rishiteshwari case, as it is AP, where the incident took place. But as of now, there is no such strong reaction he gave towards the culprits of Rishiteshwari suicide.  The reason behind this is, the accused students and college Principal Babu Rao are reportedly related to his own community and also had the support of the TDP leaders. To prove this fact, the student leaders already claimed that, they have TDP leaders support and so can do whatever they wish. Why is Jagan silent on Rishiteshwari case? To avoid conflict with other leaders in TDP, Naidu might be silent on Rishiteshwari case. So, according to him, he had a reason. Then the opposition parties like YSRCP and TRS, who always try to search for a right incident to corner TDP and Naidu, being silent shocked many. The reason behind this is, if Jagan questions Naidu on Rishiteshwari issue, he might be countered about Ayesha issue that took place under Rajashekhar Reddy government. It is to be remembered that, Ayesha issue did not find a right solution till date. Why is KCR silent on Rishiteshwari case? So by now, it might be clear that, Naidu and Jagan are maintaining strategic silence on Rishiteshwari issue. But, be it Cash for vote issue or Phone tapping conversation issue, KCR continuously targeted Naidu several times. But there is no such valid reason for him to be silent on Rishiteshwari issue. In fact, Rishiteshwari is a resident of Warangal, Telangana and so the response of KCR is supposed to be more violent. But till date he maintained mum on Rishiteshwari issue, which is making waves in the dual Telugu states.       Andhrawishesh view: Thousands of years of Human existence, what is that we learnt? Not more than, deceiving, caste dominating, injustice, etc. No leader is able to speak out about poor Rishiteshwari, for various fears and might be in the thought that, the issue will be forgotten as days gets passed. Yes, true, Rishiteshwari issue will be forgotten as the days passed. What else can we do, other than that? By Phani

Tight sleep can boost your memory, finds study July 27, 2015 18:45

Tight sleep can make our memories more accessible, according to a study by University of Exeter in Britain and the Basque Centre for Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL), Spain. The study has been published in the journal Cortex. "Sleep almost doubles our chances of remembering previously unrecalled material. The post-sleep boost in memory accessibility may indicate that some memories are sharpened overnight," explained Nicolas Dumay from University of Exeter. When scientists examined the subjects, in two situations subjects forgot information over the course of 12 hours of wakefulness and a night's sleep was shown to promote access to memory traces that had initially been too weak to be retrieved. The scientists tracked memories for novel, made-up words learnt either prior to a night's sleep, or an equivalent period of wakefulness. Subjects were asked to recall words immediately after exposure, and then again after the period of sleep or wakefulness. The participants who have enough sleep memorised the words at immediate test and those who failed to recall the words are eventually remembered at retest. The beneficial impact of sleep on memory was well established by this study. "More research is needed into the functional significance of this rehearsal and whether, for instance, it allows memories to be accessible in a wider range of contexts, hence making them more useful," Dumay said.By Lizitha
