SS Rajamouli survives an Earthquake in Japan:- SS Rajamouli and his son SS Karthikeya recently encountered an earthquake in Japan. The earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.3. Karthikeya shared a photo of his smartwatch displaying the earthquake alert on X (formerly known as Twitter) and discussed the experience. He mentioned that the RRR team was on the 28th floor when the earthquake occurred. Karthikeya described how the ground began to move and it took them a moment to realize it was an earthquake. Although he was initially panicking, he noticed that the Japanese people around him remained calm, as if it were just a light rain. The post generated concern among fans, who prayed for their safety and return to India. One fan advised them to be cautious due to the possibility of aftershocks. USA supports India in Arunachal Pradesh row:- A US official has stated that the United States recognizes Arunachal Pradesh as part of India, in response to China's assertion that the state belongs to them. The US official also strongly opposes any actions that attempt to assert territorial claims across the Line of Actual Control (LAC). During a press briefing, the Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, emphasized that the US does not support any unilateral efforts, whether military or civilian, to advance territorial claims by encroaching on the LAC. The US official's statement was made in direct response to China's Defence Ministry spokesperson, who had stated that China does not acknowledge and firmly opposes India's establishment of Arunachal Pradesh. In reply, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, dismissed China's claim as absurd and reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh has always been and will continue to be an integral and inalienable part of India. Jaiswal emphasized that repeating baseless arguments does not give them any credibility, and reaffirmed India's position on the matter. "By participating in our development programs and infrastructure projects, they can reap the benefits," he stated. In a recent incident, Beijing filed a complaint against New Delhi after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's trip to Arunachal Pradesh, where he unveiled the Sela tunnel. This tunnel, the longest of its kind in the world, guarantees all-weather connectivity to Tawang, a region that borders China in the north. Constructed at a cost of Rs 825 crore, the tunnel will facilitate the movement of troops and weaponry to strategic locations along the LAC. BRS Losing trace in Telangana:- After suffering a defeat in the recent Assembly elections, the BRS appears to have lost its enthusiasm. The party's office in Hyderabad now has a deserted atmosphere. Even the party leaders lack the energy to campaign for the upcoming Parliamentary elections. Despite the fast-approaching general elections, there is a noticeable decline in party activities. The BRS party president, former CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has already announced the candidates for 11 out of the total 17 LS constituencies. However, he has not yet finalized the strategy for each constituency. The party's presence in the election scene is limited as even the party members at the grassroots level show little interest in the electioneering. Adding to the party's troubles, the arrest of the party chief's daughter and Nizamabad MLC K. Kavitha by the ED in connection with the multi-crore Delhi Liquor scam is proving to be another obstacle. Furthermore, the Congress, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is also challenging the BRS in winning the LS elections as many party leaders are defecting to the ruling party. Also eager to secure seats in the upcoming elections, the party is determined to surpass their previous success of winning four seats in the 2019 elections. Previously aligned with the BRS during their time in power, the MIM has shifted their focus towards building a closer relationship with the Congress. This shift occurred after the Congress requested MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi to serve as the pro-tem speaker in the Assembly. Gradually, the leaders of the BRS are starting to sense that the party's momentum is waning. Kavitha Withdraws From Supreme Court Her Plea Against ED Summons:- K Kavitha, a prominent leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has decided to withdraw her plea challenging the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi excise scam case. The daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Kavitha was taken into custody by the ED on March 15 and was kept in their custody until March 23. As a result, her plea against the summons has become unnecessary. The ED had previously accused Kavitha of colluding with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and providing them with Rs 100 crore in order to gain advantages under the now-defunct Delhi excise policy. Kavitha had been questioned three times by the ED last year in relation to this case and was summoned again this year, but she refused to appear, claiming protection from coercive action granted by the Supreme Court. The ED has described Kavitha as a key conspirator and one of the main culprits in the Delhi excise policy scam, alleging that she and her associates were involved in recovering the proceeds of the crime that had been paid in advance to the AAP in order to generate profits. In the meantime, Kavitha has claimed that the government was "exploiting" the ED because the BJP could not find a "secret way in" to Telangana. Her appeal against the arrest by the ED is still awaiting a decision from the Supreme Court.
