Deadly suicide bombings hit Afghanistan's Jalalabad April 18, 2015 17:06

At least 33 people have been killed and more than 100 injured in a series of attacks in Jalalabad city in the eastern Nangarhar province. The first attack occurred at about 8:30am local time on Saturday after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the gate of the New Kabul Bank branch, according to Fazal Ahmad Sherzad, the provincial police chief. He said that just hour after the first attack, another explosion happened near the Da Afghanistan Bank  branch, just 60 metres away from the first attack.A third attack occurred outside a shrine, but no one was injured.   The Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs said two other motorcycle bombs were defused in the vicinity of the earlier attacks. "After the suicide attack, Afghan National Police discovered, defused and exploded two explosives-rigged motorcycles in the area. The other two explosions were controlled explosions by Nangarhar police but no casualties," the ministry said in a statement. Smile is the best revenge April 18, 2015 16:45

When ever you feel that you are avoided by some one, stop hurting yourself or being sad.Its a normal human tendency to make the people cry much more when they felt that we are sad just because of them. The best part of the revenge that you can take at that time is to smile talking to others, in front of that person as much as you can and make sure that smile should not differ from natural smile and also make sure that he believes it completely to be your very natural smile. That smile of yours makes the other person go mad, wild, obsessed and finally makes him come to you. If he is still not coming to you, conform it that he is no more eligible to have a wonderful person like you in his life. But remember, this formula works only if you are well aware that the fault is not on your side or the fault you committed is just by the lack of knowledge.

Taxpayers to disclose bank accounts, foreign travel to Income Tax dept April 18, 2015 16:36

The government notified new forms on Friday that will require the taxpayer to give details of foreign trips, bank accounts, passport and Aadhaar number while filing returns. The new forms, which run into 14 pages, will be applicable from the current assessment year implying taxpayers will have to furnish last year’s (2014-15) details, including overseas travel, the money spent on such trips and the sources of these funds among others.HT had first reported on August 22 last year about the government’s plans to make it mandatory to disclose details of overseas trips in tax return forms as part of a broad strategy to crack down on India’s black economy.Under the new tax filing norms, the taxpayer will have to furnish the number of bank accounts held “at any time (including opened/closed) during the previous year” with the last balance in his or her account on March 31 of the just concluded fiscal. The tax payer will also have to give the name of the bank, account number/numbers, it’s address, IFSC and any possible joint account holder.IFSC is Indian Financial System Code, an eleven character code assigned by RBI to identify every bank branche uniquely.Besides, the tax payer will have to provide details about his or her passport, the place where it was issued, countries visited during the previous financial year, number of times such trips were made and in case of a resident taxpayer, the expenses incurred from “own sources in relation to such travel”.Days after assuming office, the Narendra Modi-led government ordered setting up of a special investigation team in line with a Supreme Court order last year. The team’s mandate has since been expanded to also focus on the parallel economy thriving at home.Last month, the government introduced a bill to combat black money stacked in foreign shores with stringent provisions to penalise and prosecute those who do not declare their stashed cash and assets.Sources said the government will also table a comprehensive new Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Bill in the current session of Parliament after the month-long recess to combat the menace posed by the illegal parallel black economy within the country. In October, the government had handed over to the Supreme Court a list of 628 entities whose names feature in a list of HSBC account holders Geneva, which France had handed over to India in 2011.India has also offered a “cash reward” to Herve Falciani, a former HSBC Bank employee-turned-whistleblower, for securing fresh information on unaccounted money parked in foreign bank accounts. - Manohar

The duo is diving in with both feet, too: Cyanogen OS will include Skype, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, Office, and Bing services going forward. Cyanogen’s taking Android away from Google and handing it to Microsoft, it seems. The story behind the story: Rumors of collaboration between Microsoft and Cyanogen were first tied to Cyanogen’s recent funding round. Microsoft didn’t wind up investing, but today’s announcement confirms that the whispers contained a kernel of truth—and this strategic partnership is a perfect fit for the goals of each company.Win-winSince sprouting from humble beginnings as a custom Android ROM, Cyanogen has sprouted into a full-fledged company that is actively seeking partners to preload its OS on phones. The OnePlus One running Cyanogen.CEO Kirt McMaster has publicly complained about how deeply Google integrates its services into Android. If AP restricts Tamilnadu travels..? April 18, 2015 14:01

First of all its the time of scarcity for AP. So the government is planning various activities to gain good results soon. Chandrababu Naidu is doing his best for the development of the state. But there are continuous difficulties in some or the other way that are making AP CM go mad.APSRTC which is one of the main source of income for the government is now getting decreased day by day. When inquired about the facts, it can be obviously said that it is due to the oppositions in Tamilnadu for the AP state regarding the Seshachalam encounter. From the date of the encounter, the AP buses are restricted to enter the state due to which the income that is generated by the government is completely nil now. But the thing is, Tamilnadu buses are able to do rounds in the AP state with no such restrictions. So regarding their income, there is no problem. So few of the villagers in AP who are facing the difficulties to travel to Tamilnadu opined that this problem is never ending, the authorities have to take proper initiatives. It would be better if the Tamilnadu transport too were restricted in the state. Then that would be a perfect remedy for this problem, the villagers opined.Actually, if the above thought is implemented, the situations might take new ways. One of it is till date, other than restricting the buses, the Tamilnadu government did not make any violence except destroying few AP buses in the beginning. Now if AP starts restricting the Tamilnadu buses into the state, then the consequences would be severe, as the fault is supposed to be on our side according to them. Now with this act, they nowhere be able to tolerate it and the rivalry between the both states increases day by day in that way, that even the Telugu films might be restricted in their state, basing on the fact, that they are AP actors, so it will be better if the idea is dropped on th spot.    By Phani

Rahul Gandhi Seen and Heard after two months April 18, 2015 13:14

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi made his first public appearance today after his 57-day sabbatical, meeting farmers' delagations ahead of Sunday's "Kisan Khet Mazdoor" rally in Delhi.Half-a-dozen farmers' groups from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh are attending the meet, which is being held at his New Delhi residence. The party is expected to take farmers on board regarding its plans to oppose the land acquisition law ahead of the second half of the Parliament's budget session, which is to begin on Monday.Earlier this month, the land acquisition ordinance was reissued after the government failed to pass a bill to replace it in Parliament.A united opposition, led by the Congress, has called  the proposed land law anti-farmer and the party plans to raise the pitch with tomorrow's farmers rally -- which both Mr Gandhi and his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi are expected to address.Today's meeting is also expected to be an exploratory exercise regarding the problems farmers are facing - the key one being the crop loss in nine states following the unseasonal rains in March and April."The farmers are facing a grave situation. We hope he raises voice for us," said some of the delegates of the meeting.Sunday's rally, to be held at Delhi's Ramlila Grounds, has been organised on a mammoth scale - the party says it expects around one lakh farmers to attend it. Rajasthan party chief Sachin Pilot has booked a special 17-coach "Kissan (farmer) Express" from Jaipur to Delhi. The rally is being seen as the comeback platform of the 44-year-old Congress vice president after his 57-day sabbatical, that included a course in vipassana or meditation. - Manohar
