Kapus row: Mudragada’s health deteriorates! February 06, 2016 12:11

Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, is continuing his indefinite fast on the second day too, along with his wife, at his residence itself. The uncompromising Mudragada, who challenged that, he would not drop the fast, until the government makes a move regarding Kapus inclusion in BCs, is continuing the fast today. Currently, the concerned officials are conducting a few medical tests on Mudragada couple. Changes in BP and sugar levels of Kapu Chief, are worrying the other Kapus now.  Speaking to the media, Mudragada said, the government is just trying to bluff the public, diverting the issue, to a different route, showing illogical reasons. In support to the age old leader, several other Kapus have started hunger strikes in Amalapuram clock tower area. All such leaders have busted on AP government that it is unnecessarily delaying the promise and even warned that the situation would turn more violent, if it do not compromise. They have demanded to release all the people arrested during Kapus agitation on Sunday.   Naidu heated up Kapus agitation! It is to be observed that Kapus have been silent for decades, and away from any type of violence related activities. But heat in them was raised by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, after he promised during 2014 elections, to include Kapus in BCs. Before his promise, no doubt Kapus have suffered from several financial issues. Lack of the basic needs like quality education, food and other issues, pinched them to declare a war like this, on the government at once. One can easily understand a point that, there would be no disturbance among BCs, if at all, Kapus are included in OBC category and awarding them reservation quota, for higher studies and such other requirements. The rivalry between BCs and Kapus only takes place when it comes a question of losing the employment opportunities. But rest other needs like fee discounting and such others would not disturb much. So it would be better if the government notes this point and announce a positive news to Kapus soon, before the situations turn worse. By Phani Ch

But Taipei was quiet, with no sense of emergency or obvious damage just before dawn.Even tremors were felt in mainland China, the residents reported. It is not new for Taiwan to face the earthquakes very often. But most of them are minor and cause little damage.  However, in 1999, a magnitude-7.6 earthquake in central Taiwan, killed more than 2,400 people.By Phani Ch

Bellamkonda Srinivas in Ram’s route! February 06, 2016 10:17

VV Vinayak’s direction, Devi Sri Prasad’s music, Samantha as a female lead, helped Alludu Seenu, to get a good boosting and in fact, that made producer Bellamkonda Suresh, to invest 30 crores on his son’s debut movie. Fortunately, the movie secured a good success, putting all the distributors in the safe zone. After that movie, Bellamkonda Srinivas was offered the main lead role in one of the top directors of film industry, Boyapati Seenu. But as Boyapati is busy with the other big subject like Sarainodu with Allu Arjun, to fill the gap, meanwhile, Srinivas opted senior director Bheemaneni Srinivas and released a new movie called Speedunnodu yesterday.  Bheemaneni once had a good fame as a family director. But he lost form for several years. He again bounced back with Sudigadu success and continued the success track with Speedunnodu, which was declared a hit, right from the first show.  Just like he did in Alludu Seenu, even in Speedunnodu, Bellamkonda Srinivas shook his legs with milky beauty Tamanna, in a spicy item number. That reached the masses well, and with the boost given by the popular biggies like this, now the audience even got attracted to Srinivas and put him under a comfortable genre. In the recent times, Ram is the only young hero, who attained successes and developed following among the masses, with the support of less background like producer Sravanthi Ravikishore, who is his uncle. Now Srinivas followed the similar lines of Ram, taking the support from the former’s father, producer Bellamkonda Suresh. Boyapati Seenu’s movie is the biggest hope of Srinivas’s career, as that movie has every chances to confirm his berth, alongside Tollywood star heroes. It should be seen, whether such magic takes place and continue his career successfully like Ram or not.By Phani Ch

Only then GHMC victory is meaningful- KCR February 06, 2016 09:03

The overwhelmed Telangana Chief Minister, KCR reacted, spoke to the media on a low profile, without criticizing any of the opposition parties. Here are the bullet points, he spoke to the media, after GHMC election results 2016 were out: - Unless the public likes and believes in the party so much, the victory like this, is not possible. - I bow my head to all the people in the state for offering us this range of huge victory. - The party leaders should recognize that the responsibility has increased now and work accordingly, without showing any pride. - Even the journalists voted TRS party. Only then a victory like this, will be possible. - I heard that people are expecting double bedroom houses. As promised in 2014 elections, we will construct 1 lakh houses and keep up our promise. - KG-PG, free education is the only promise, which is yet to be implemented. As, it is a big deal, that is why, it is taking time. We will even keep up that promise too. We are happy to say that we initiated rest other promises, made during the elections. - Before elections, oppositions tried to create several illusions, as if Hyderabadis are against TRS. But the result proved them the fact. All other states people, including Andhra, staying in Hyderabad, will be considered as our own Telangana people and will be treated accordingly, protecting them from all the odds. - To solve the water issue, two reservoirs will be constructed. 24/7 electricity will be provided, just like in Mumbai city - There is no question of compromising on law and order issue, how big the other party is. - As of now, the poor people only have two government hospitals – Osmania and Gandhi. But in the future days, King Koti hospital will be turned as 1000 beds hospital and another two 1000 bed hospitals will be constructed in the city. Overall, five to six big hospitals will be constructed, beating the quality medical services given by Yashoda and Apollo hospitals. Along with MRI, all the services will be available in these hospitals. To make available to all the people, the hosptials would be constructed in all the corners of the city. - The party VIPs would take the decision on the candidates in mayor, deputy mayor posts, in the next two days. These grand victory would have a right meaning, only if the party leaders are able to work effectively, without taking bribes and performing other corrupted activities. KCR was humble throughout the speech and assured good days. This range of historical victory is definitely a very great responsibility. Hope the TRS government lives up to the expectations of Hyderabadis and develop the city accordingly. By Phani Ch

GHMC: Drastic fall of TD-BJP, Congress February 06, 2016 08:12

TRS party completely swept GHMC polls and roared again with the never before victory. Reacting on the election result, IT minister KTR called it a ‘universal acceptance’ of the TRS by all sections of society in Hyderabad, while the opposition TD-BJP combine and the Congress received a drubbing. Even in the areas, where Andhrites are surrounded with, TRS managed to win, creating the history. Excepting MIM, which won 44 seats, TRS almost had one side war, bagging 99 seats out of the total 150 seats. After the formation of a separate Telangana state, this was the first GHMC elections and this range of victory by TRS, is being considered as the big boost by the party TRS officials. In the previous GHMC elections in 2009, TRS could not even a single seat, while Congress bagged 52, MIM 43 and TDP bagged 45 seats and BJP had five corporators. Two bedroom scheme, fewer power cuts, water supply in face of a severe crisis, better law and order, the party’s approach towards settlers and forthcoming projects for Hyderabad, are the major points, where Hyderabadis could not move away from TRS. To the surprise of many, in several winning grounds of Congress and TDP earlier, dominated by the settlers, TRS won, giving a jolt to all the oppositions. However, the TRS could not win at the KPHB Colony ward, which is a bastion of the Kamma community. The TDP could win only one seat - KPHB Colony ward. Overall, the BJP-TD combine won five seats, out of which BJP won four seats. Meanwhile, the Congress, which won 52 seats in 2009, could only win two wards in GHMC elections - Patancheru and Boudhanagar. But this range of victory has effectively shut the door on the TDP and indicated for the future that, even Andhra Pradesh settlers are behind TRS. To everyone’s surprise, the TRS won in wards that fall under Assembly seats held by TD MLAs, such as Quthbullapur, Kukatpally, Serilingampally and Uppal. None of the independent candidates won this time. This victory will also be a major boost to KTR, who is set to take over the Municipal Administration and Urban Development ministry. Thanking all Hyderabadis for the victory, KTR tweeted, “Humbled & deeply grateful for your tremendous vote of confidence. Let’s make Hyderabad cleaner, greener, safer & smarter.” In 2014, Congress could not win a single Assembly seat out of the 24 in the GHMC area. The party ended up with two wards, out of 150 in the GHMC. It has lost deposits in the Medak and Warangal bypolls held after the formation of Telangana state, and all the elections held further. Even TDP leaders were shocked after the results were announced, who are till then very confident of the Seemandhra voters in Hyderabad. Responding after the result, Telangana TDP president, L. Ramana said, “people changed their minds completely which we failed to gauge. We concentrated on localities with elite voters whereas the TRS focused on basti voters. We believed that the Hyderabad voter would be with us, but things changed unexpectedly.” He said the TD was affected by MLAs and leaders defecting to the TRS and said the results warranted a change in party strategies. The BJP contested 68 divisions and ended up with four. It had won five Assembly seats in 2014, and five divisions in the 2009 GHMC elections. Senior leader and MLC N. Ramachandra Rao said, “When the TD or the Congress was in power earlier, they had won majority in the GHMC. The trend has repeated this time too. But we need to analyse the debacle and take corrective steps.” By Phani Ch

Kapu struggle or revolt? February 05, 2016 15:53

Kapu community chief and Seasoned warrior Mudragada Padmanabam has started his Hunger strike along with his wife in his home at Kirlampudi village of East Godavari district, today. As said before, Mudragada, the one name that is heard big in Kapus battle has sat for the hunger strike, seeking the implementation of his community welfare related demands which are part of poll promises of TDP  government in Andhra Pradesh. He said that, he will opt to die than to surrender.Mudragada further said that, even if he is arrested, he will continue the fast unto death in the prison, the Precondition being implementation of few promises etched in the election manifesto of TDP.The do or die attitude of this old generation politician is now getting support from the Global Kapu community. Kapu  community which is globally spread with more than three crores of population and more than half of them living in Andhra Pradesh in pathetic conditions is up in arms against the step motherly attitude of successive regimes. The simmering anger and anguish reflected in a recent gathering of more than a million Kapu activists near Mudragada’s village, showing their solidarity.Reducing their vulnerability will strengthen the state...but will the government, which is under the spell of a greedy minority community, heed to this genuine agony or some blood would spill in the painful process due to Machiavellian politics is the yet to be unanswered question. Let us hope sanity prevails and major political parties and all stakeholders play their role in a decent and Democratic manner....Though most of the people in Kapu community are even in a position to meet the small needs of life, they continued to adjust to the lifestyle and pretended that, they are well, unwilling to show empty hands to the society. But as the situation is getting worsened day by day, they had no other option other than coming forward and protest for their rights, promised by the AP government already.  Kapus row: What is Naidu trying to do, what should he actually do? It seems, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is trying to manipulate the situation with his decades of experience in playing the political strategies. He said that, GO should be issued based on the perfect report, but not merely by an  electoral promise of providing reservations for Kapu.    He even took out example of SC rejection of Jats' demand for reservation and opined that, Kapu and Balija on the basis of caste alone, cannot claim reservations. The political analysts say that, Naidu wants Kapus to appreciate the fact that his government has appointed a commission to look into the issue as such a course is legally advisable. The mere issuance of GO may satisfy political anxieties, but may not be legally tenable.  Since state reservation already reached 50%, stating that backwardness is a manifestation caused by the presence of several independent circumstances, which may be social, cultural, economic, educational or even political, Supreme Court in the Jats case said, “The perception of a self-proclaimed socially backward class of citizens or even the perception of the “advanced classes” as to the social status of the “less fortunates” cannot continue to be a constitutionally permissible yardstick for determination of backwardness, both in the context of Articles 15 (4) and 16 (4) of the Constitution.”So the issue of reservation GO should be included in 9th Schedule only.Below is the Tamilnadu Example: 1989Statewide Road Blockade Agitations were launched by Vanniar Sangam (Parent Body of Pattali Makkal Katchi) demanding 20% reservations in State Government and 2% reservations in Central Government exclusively for Vanniyar Caste.DMK Government Split OBC reservations into 2 Parts with 30% for OBC and 20% for MBC. Separate Reservation of 1% introduced for Scheduled Tribes. Total Reservation percentage stood at 69%.1992Supreme Court, in Mandal Judgement, reiterated that reservation percentage cannot exceed 50% and "Creamy Layer" to be excluded from the reservation benefits.1994The court instructed Tamilnadu government to follow 50% reservations in the case filed by famous lawyer K. M. Vijayan on behalf of VOICE Consumer forum. Anandakrishnan, one of the members of Oversight committee, and then Anna University chairman announced that, 50% reservation will be followed.69% Reservation was included in 9th Schedule. But getting a report for any reservations, the Chairperson should have a clean image.Present BC Chair Person for Kapu reservations K L Manjunath has a questionable background though!!!! Is this a camouflage? Kapus inclusion disturbs benefits, current BCs get? The government and even other opposition parties said to offer reservation to Kapus without disturbing the existing benefits, BCs are getting. In that order, the disturbance between Kapus and BCs would be inevitable, if the government links the reservation to job benefits. Instead, it would be better, if the government concentrates more on providing the reservations to the students, like giving discounts in educational institutions, hostels etc. In this way, it does not disturb the current BCs and even Kapus would be benefited, without having the need to face any counter agitations from BCs.   It should be seen, whether Mudragada’s indefinite strike could move the government and make a step forward and plant the smiles on the faces of decades of struggling Kapus.   By Phani Ch

Underwater restaurant closed after 2 days of its launch February 05, 2016 12:38

Real Poseidon, Ahmedabad’s first underwater restaurant near Cadila bridge, has been closed down, just after two days of its launch, as the leakage rumors and troubles with permission surrounded. After discovering that certain development permissions had not been approved, reportedly, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has officially sealed the restaurant. Speaking on the issue, the deputy municipal commissioner of AMC, Devang Desai said, “The restaurant will be issued a notice, and we will seal it on Thursday because it has not sought the mandatory development permission under the town planning rules. The seal will remain in place until it seeks the necessary approvals needed under town planning rules. We will not allow it to operate otherwise.”Ahmedabad Fire And Emergency Services also came forward to dispute the owner’s earlier claim of having acquired all necessary permissions from the AMC, the health department and the fire department.M F Dastur, the Chief Fire Officer claimed that, he had only come to know about the restaurant’s launch from the media.   “I am yet to visit the restaurant. We have not given any permission to the restaurant. It needs to have permission from the department of fire in case of emergencies like flooding of water and emergency exits,” he said. However, the Real Poseidon’s first nail in the coffin was rumors of leakage in the aquarium. The owner denied the leaks, but admitted there were a couple of issues that required attention. “There was a problem with the circulation that made the water inside the aquarium sandy making it difficult for fishes to be seen. Besides, there was an unexpected rush of people and calls for bookings throughout the day. There were also other small problems like an exposed air conditioning wire that was a small eyesore and customers suggested that we conceal it. We are taking care of unfinished work,” he said.Even the restaurant’s website also appeared to have been overlooked: alongside several misspellings, certain details had been left blank with indications to be filled, and dummy text areas still existed. The owner named Bharat Bhatt claimed that he was inspired by Dubai’s 32 seater, multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant. “I have designed the entire restaurant myself. I had even planned underwater walkways with fishes inside. However, that did not work out,” he said.By Phani Ch
