Spicy talk : Kriti Sanon May 05, 2015 12:16

Not many films, but its the influence that Kriti Sanon injected in the audience with those few films is to be talked about. This long leg lady is the winner of the Filmfare magazine cover photo this time. She had previously won Filmfare award as the best female debut for Heropanti movie. It seems to be like Filmfare is in love with this girl again and that resulted into dropping her on their cover page. Generally, the photo shoots for magazine are not done without injecting the flavor of spice in  dressing, but with Kriti, the case is different, there is no such spiciness in her dressing. However that flavor can very clearly known by her hot looks. The way she caught hold of her glasses and touching her lower lip with it, raising her hand and keeping it on her head, all these are actually more spicy. So whats there in a dressing again. May be with the same logic, Filmfare might not concentrate on her dress, am I right ?       By Phani

Buddha is the way to get rid of wars and conflict in the world: PM Narendra Modi May 05, 2015 11:59

Invoking Lord Buddha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reached out to victims of the Nepal earthquake and prayed for their speedy recovery from the tragedy. He was speaking on the occasion of ‘Buddha Purnima’ in the national capital.“The joyous occasion of Buddha Purnima is shadowed by the sorrow of our beloved brother Nepal. The birthplace of the Buddha is facing a huge crisis. I pray to the Buddha that Nepal finds strength to bounce back,” Modi said addressing a gathering during the Buddha’s birth anniversary celebrations. He led the gathering in observing a minute’s silence in the memory of victims of the earthquake. He said the Buddha’s teaching of compassion inspires one to rebuild lives. India has deployed massive resources, including military forces, for rescue and relief operations in Nepal. Modi also said the world is going through “turmoil” and added that the teachings of Lord Buddha can show the way out.The Centre has decided to mark the anniversary with state-supported celebrations every year — a move hailed by the International Buddhist Confederation, which rued the fact that the Indian government has not been lending support to the event for years.Noting that the Buddha has championed the cause of underprivileged and Dalits, Modi said it was inherent in the Buddha’s teachings to bring people together.“All Asian countries I have visited have organised visits to Buddhist temples in those places, like Japan and Sri Lanka. The Buddha’s ideals have impacted many countries and cultures… But they are all lying scattered. The Buddha should bring them all together,” he said, adding,“The world acknowledges that the 21st Century belongs to Asia. I believe this cannot happen without embracing the Buddha’s philosophy.” In his half-hour speech, Modi sought to establish what he described as his “deep connect with the Buddha’s ideals”. - Manohar

Not only Pawan, NTR can also do it ! May 05, 2015 11:15

Young Tiger. He is so called not only for his fierce acting in movies but also for his kind heart in real. This turned true once again when he responded to a fan of his.On Saturday (May 2nd), a guy called Rajashekhar, who was a fan of NTR was traveling to his relatives house to invite them for his marriage, died in the road accident at Gadwal in Mahabubnagar district. After knowing that, family members appealed NTR to extend his support for them. Reacting to the issue, Tarak immediately sent his men to attend the cremation and console the family members on behalf of them.   Tarak further assured his financial support for the family members and asked them to meet him personally in Hyderabad. After finishing all the cremation formalities, family members would meet Tarak in a couple of days.   By the way, this reaction from Tarak is not new, as he previously responded to many such situations like extending his support for family of a fan who died at 'Baadshah' audio launch event. There are few heroes who give importance and values their fans. Pawan Kalyan is well known for this type of activities and NTR too occupies a comfortable position in that list.  By Phani

Communal MIM chief Owaisi’ new like to secularism May 05, 2015 11:01

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Asaduddin Owaisi raised his objection against the Bharat Ratna conferred on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the Padma Vibhushan given to BJP patriarch LK Advani. While speaking at a seminar titled ‘Ayodhya controversy - Ramjanmabhoomi - fiction or reality’ in Hyderabad, Owaisi spoke about the two BJP leaders’ alleged role in the demolition of the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya on December 6th, 1992. He has made references to the speeches made by Vajpayee a day before the demolition and to the cases filed against Advani regarding the mosque’s demolition."Have we forgotten December 5 (1992)? The same Atal Bihari Vajpayee who had said 'we are going to level the ground' (has been now given the Bharat Ratna)," he said. "The same L K Advani who spread destruction in the country with his 'Rathyatra'. This could probably be the first instance of Padma Vibhushan being given to a person who is facing criminal cases," the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen leader said.“That’s why those people will question the awarding people who have contributed and given sacrifices for the country, because it does not suit them, and the people who suit them are the ones who are against the country,” he said. BJP spokesman Sudhanshu Dwivedi said that an effort to make a “communal direction” by people like Owaisi on the basis of baseless and misleading issues does not come as a surprise to the party. “I would only say that people who are dreaming to expand their political career in India on the basis of communal hatred can only be expected of things like these,” he said.Vajpayee, founding member of BJP who is held in high esteem across the political spectrum, was conferred with Bharat Ratna, the country's highest civilian award, by President Pranab Mukherjee. Vajpayee has been credited with taking bold initiatives, notable among them being the historic bus journey to Lahore in 1999 when he signed the landmark Lahore Declaration with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with both sides pledging to push for peace and security.Vajpayee is regarded as one of the most charismatic leaders, he was lauded as a statesman politician whose acceptability across the board broke barriers and brought BJP to centre stage of politics.Owaisi known for his hate speeches to ignite communal tension aiming at Muslim concentration for him and his family’s political gains now talking about peace and secularism is just like prostitute talking about morality. Owaisi’s utterances aiming at the dalits of the Hindu community is just like the fox trying to drink the blood of the fighting sheeps. He is trying to divide the Hindu community to take advantage of the weaknesses of the Dalits for his selfish political gains for him and his family.By Premji

Kolkata Knight Riders beats Sunrisers Hyderabad by 35 runs May 05, 2015 10:13

Kolkata Knight Riders bounced back in the home-leg in style by notching up a comprehensive 35-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday. Defending 167, KKR were given a rollicking start by their speedster Umesh Yadav, who castled dangerman David Warner (4) and Naman Ojha (0) in the first over, and the visitors failed to recover from the double blow to finish at 132 for nine. The KKR spin duo of Brad Hogg (2/17) and Piyush Chawla (1/16) tightened the noose further around SRH, handing them their third defeat in as many outings at the Eden Gardens. While their top batsmen failed to impress, Moises Henriques (41 from 33 balls) and Karn Sharma (32 from 20) put up a fight, but it proved to be too late and too little for the Sunrisers.KKR (11) jumped past Royal Challengers Bangalore (9) to the third spot in the table, brightening their hopes of qualifying for the play-offs. The big win also gave a fillip to their net run-rate.The defending champions next play Delhi Daredevils (May 7) and Kings XI Punjab (May 10) to conclude their home-leg.SRH, on the other hand, remained fifth with eight points from nine matches. It was another welcome homecoming for KKR, who know how to win at the Eden, and everything fell in order even as none of their batsmen could convert their starts after being put in by SRH skipper Warner. From 55 for no loss in the first six overs the hosts were reduced to 86/3 in 12 with the Sharma duo -- Karn and Bipul --conceding just 52 runs between them in eight overs while taking the crucial wickets of Gautam Gambhir (31), Robin Uthappa (30) and Andre Russell (1).Left-arm spinner Bipul (1/23) ran out Manish Pandey (33), before Yusuf Pathan slammed 30 off 19 balls to lift his side's total to 167.In reply, the SRH batting fell apart after Umesh rocked the top-order with his twin blow in his first over, including the prized scalp of Warner. The SRH captain, who has struck five half-centuries already this season, got going with a boundary but Yadav bounced back in the next ball to disturb his off stump.Yadav went on to castle Ojha for a duck in the last ball of the first over to leave SRH reeling at 6/2. - Manohar

“If earning money is a goal, there are many ways to do it, you need not be in the politics for that goal”, Telangana Chief Minister KCR said in the training classes at Nagarjuna Sagar. It is known that for all the state leaders and members, a training camp is being held at Nagarjuna Sagar. Speaking to those leaders, KCR said that, not many would get the opportunity to serve the people, god gave us that, so it is to be utilized properly. We should be privileged to be the first leaders in the new state. We have an every opportunity to occupy a place in the history with the quality of service we provide. For this we need not change our language, our character or any sort of things. We should be original, and do not express duplicate feelings. Its not a single day or single night fight for the separate state but many years struggle is the result of Telangana now, KCR reminded. Nalgonda and Khammam districts will be provided with Sagar water for 3 lakh acres. No other CM prayed for the state like this. All the past leaders used Nagarjuna Sagar water as their personal tap. So in this situation, Telangana leaders has a greater opportunity to serve the state and work for the welfare of the people.Dwakra societies interest less loans increasedTelangana government promises water for every house and current for 24 hours to all the farmers of the state, without providing those, TRS will not ask for the votes, KCR clarified again. Mixing energy drinks and alcohol increases drinking abuse May 05, 2015 09:40

According to a study, teenagers who mix alcohol with energy drinks are four times more likely to face a drinking problem disorder than those who have tried alcohol but never mixed it with an energy drink. The Dartmouth team, led by James D. Sargent, MD with first author Jennifer A. Emond, MSc, PhD published "Energy drink consumption and the risk of alcohol use disorder among a national sample of adolescents and young adults," in Journal of Pediatrics. Several studies have documented a link between consuming alcohol mixed with energy drinks and the increased rates of negative outcomes while drinking, including binge drinking. The research team looked at a sample of 3,342 adolescents and young adults aged 15-23 years old recruited across the US. Around 9.7 percent of adolescents aged 15-17 years old had consumed an energy drink mixed with alcohol. Analyses showed that group to have greatly increased odds of not just binge drinking, but also clinically defined criteria for alcohol use disorder."Abusive alcohol use among adolescents is a dangerous behaviour that can lead to injury, chronic alcohol use and abuse, and even death," said Emond. "Identifying those most at risk for alcohol use is critical. Given that this is a sensitive issue, it's possible that clinicians, parents, and educators might open dialogues about alcohol use with adolescents by starting the discussion on the topic of energy drinks."Many previous searches have proved increasing odds of alcohol drinking by teens, but from this study, binge drinking in combination with energy drinks have proved drinking disorder. So, experts advise not to drink alcohol mixing with energy drinks.  By Lizitha
