Models wear lehengas as heavy as 35kg

Model Lakshmi Rana looked a bit disoriented when we caught up with her after Manish Malhotra's show.

But it wasn't the crowd, the usual backstage chaos or even the presence of Katrina Kaif on the ramp that upset the veteran model. It was the heavy garments she wore during the show that left her deflated, especially because there was no dress rehearsal earlier. Lakshmi told us that her garment weighed a hefty 35kg. "I wasn't in Delhi all this while and as soon as I come back, I'm into this 35kg garment that's kind of risky to walk in," she said. Asked if she had to alter her walk for it, she replied, "Of course I had to walk slower. I practiced backstage to make sure I didn't trip in it."
