Arizona temple hosts Maha Kumbabishekam

Maha Ganapathi Temple of Arizona performed a three day Maha Kumbhabhishekam between May 9th and 11th at Maricopa city. The  main  events of the ceremony included Moola Aalaya Vimaana [Gopuram] for Sri Maha Ganapati, Sri Viswanatha [Lord Siva], Sri Venkateswara [Lord Balaji] and Murthi-Prana-Prathishtapana of Lord Sathyanarayana & Sivgagama Sundari Sametha Nataraja.

On May 9th Friday, Adhivasam ceremony was performed. The vigrahas were washed with water [Jalaadhivasam], paddy [Dhanyaadhivasam] and in flowers [Pushpaadhivasam] so as to keep all the negative energies should get cool.

On May 10, Saturday, Moolamantra Homam by offering ghee, grains spices to the fire and Netronmeelanam was done. In this ceremony the sculptor opens the eye of the vigraha using a silver awl.  

Then Ashtabandhana followed. To fix the vigrahas to the peetam [pedestal] a special pasted was prepared using eight special ingredients. This paste acts as a seal between the vigrahas and peetam. Jeeva Kala Avahan ritual gives energy to the vigrahas through chanting of spiritual mantras. 

On the last day of the three day event, Maha Kumbabishekam was performed. Trained priests conducted Abishekam and Archana for the newly erected shirnes and later Satyanarayana Swamy pooja was hosted.

Devotees attended in large numbers at the temple to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime event. The organizers made all the arrangements for the devotees in this spiritual fest.
