Obama nominates Indian-American for senate post
The US President Barack Obama has nominated an Indian-American for Georgia state's senate elections. The elections are scheduled to take place by the end of the year. Bikram Kumar Mohanty, who has been selected by Obama, is an entreprenuer who made it to the news n number of times in the United States.
Fourty-five-year old Mohanty is the founder of Innovative Rehab Solutions in Georgia's Valdosta city. Mohanty migrated to the United States in 1994 from Odisha. Mohanty has contributed to the healthcare industry in the US. He has even started a non profit organization, Mother Teresa Foundation, to raise awareness among people on health care.
Meanwhile, Orissa Society of Americans exressed its happiness over Obama nominating a person from Odisha to one of the prestigeous posts. Mohanty happens to be the first person from Odisha to run for a state senate in the US.
