Cash missing in ATM, over 35lakhs

The S R Nagar Police station received a complaint from the security guards of HDFC ATM counters that Cash worth Rs. 35,54,800 has been robbed from the ATMs. The 4 ATMs located in the Ameerpet area of Hyderabad have lost the cumulative cash say sources. The security officials, who noticed the variation today, have reported the matter to the police. The four ATMs belong to the HDFC bank in the same area. The complaint also said that one Mr Srinivas an employee of the bank is responsible for the discrepancy. Police are investigating the case.

Police have taken custody of the said employee and are interrogating him for the loss occurred at the ATMs. Off late thefts at the ATM by using false cards and attacking the people coming out of ATMs at lonely locations has been on the prowl. Now this adds a new dimension to the crime. Normally the banks place considerable cash in the ATMs for public transaction. The ATMs are a boon in emergency.
