Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan paired up for the first time to share screen space for the film Balupu. The shooting of this movie would be started in October and the movie Malineni Gopichand is directing this film. Notably, this not for the first time wherein Gopichand and Ravi Teja would work together. Earlier, he directed Don Seenu casting Ravi Teja as protagonist.

After Gabbar Singh, Shruti Haasan signed this film and sources said that Shruti accepted the film since there was so much of scope for acting for her. Also, if buzz is to be believed this movie would be an out and out comedy film. Thaman is going to score music for this film. While Ravi Teja is working on Sir Osthara movie, Shruti is busy with Hindi film, which is the remake of Nuvvu Vastanante Nenu Vaddantana. Balupu would be released in 2013.
