Fire destroys Rajanna’s sets

fire-in-setA fire accident, spread from a short circuit, destroyed the specially erected sets of the Nagarjuna-starrer ‘Rajanna’ at Jubilee Hills Tuesday evening.

Equipment and sets worth Rs. 70 lakh were totally destroyed in the fire and fortunately no casualties were reported. The producers have cancelled the shooting of the movie immediately. Well known director SS Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad is directing this movie.

The destroyed sets are those of a village and bungalow erected at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. Sources said that the fire spread immediately as the sets were made of plaster of Paris. Most part of the shooting on the sets is already over but five days of shooting still remains to be completed there, according to the sources.

Heroine Sneha is playing the lead female character opposite Nag in this movie. Sneha earlier paired with Nag in the block buster movie ‘Sri Ramadas’.
