Story:

‘Aarakshan’ is all about the story of Dr. Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan) who is the principle of one of the best colleges in India, since 30 years, and he has set some idealistic principles and disciplines too. Everything would be going for a while, but his comments on the law of reservation land him in trouble and they grow even to certain extent that lands him up being homeless. The Story revolves around how Prabahkar’s principles make him undergo a lot of problems and what would be the solution for all these. The rest of the characters like that of Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Prateik Babbar and Manoj Baajpai and others help the story to run forward.

Performance & Analysis:

One of the Major USP that holds the audience in their seats while watching the film is the screenplay and take off of the story and certain sensitive issues dealt with the director Prakash Jha. Some sequences, dialogues and that emotion in the scenes, actually worked out very well. Initially, when Saif Ali khan walks out of the interview, when the concerned people make negative comments on his cast and Amitabh’s overall performance turn to be the highlights of the film. The film does not possess any solution to any prevailing problem discussed. It just gives a path that makes the audience think. The take off of the film was very good, the director definitely succeeded in with holding the required emotion and drama, but, the second half seemed to be a bit dragging. This is definitely not like any other Cinema, a film that makes the difference and stands out from the rest of the lot. A film for those set of audience, who believe in looking at a film, more than Just a Commercial Cinema. The Music Scores composed by  Shakar, Ehsaan and Loy, fit into the story of the film.

Major credit goes to the Director of the film, Prakash Jha, who is known for making such films, earlier, even his film; ‘Raajneeti’ was a super success that also dealt with the Politics in India.

Final Word:

‘Aarakshan’, a worth watching film. Do go for watching this film, without any expectations.
