ED seizes Kavitha's Mobile Phones March 16, 2024 12:25

ED seizes Kavitha's Mobile Phones:- K Kavitha, a member of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and daughter of former Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, was taken to the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) office in Delhi on Saturday, a few hours after her arrest in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy. The arrest followed a day-long interrogation and a search at her residence in Hyderabad. She is expected to appear before a special court in Delhi today, possibly in the afternoon. During the search, the ED found five mobile phones at K Kavitha's house. A witness stated that the ED presented a search warrant, but Kavitha initially resisted the investigation. However, the search eventually commenced. The operation at K Kavitha's house began on Friday at around 1:45 pm and concluded at approximately 6:45 pm. In the arrest order, the ED investigation officer stated, "I believe that Smt. Kalvakuntla Kavitha, wife of Mr. D R Anil Kumar, residing at H. No. As provided in section 19, sub section (1) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (915 of 2003), I, therefore, exercise my authority to apprehend Smt. Kalvakuntla Kavitha at 05.20 pm on 15.03.2024. She has been duly informed of the reasons for her arrest, and a comprehensive document detailing these reasons (spanning 14 pages) has been presented to her. This action follows nearly two months after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued summonses to the 45-year-old BRS MLC. Last year, she was questioned on three separate occasions in relation to this case, and her statement was recorded by the central agency under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The BRS leader previously asserted her innocence and accused the BJP of utilizing the ED to gain unauthorized access to Telangana. It is worth noting that Kavitha was also interrogated by the CBI in connection with the money laundering case. The ED initiated their case after taking into account the CBI's First Information Report (FIR). The investigation revealed that a group called the "South Group" was formed by a cartel. This group included Telangana MLC Kavitha, Sarath Reddy (promoter of Aurobindo Group), Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MP, Ongole), his son Raghav Magunta, and others. Pillai, Abhishek Boinpalli, and Butchi Babu were the representatives of the South Group during the investigation conducted by the federal agency. (Video Source: ABN Telugu)

Breaking: Kalvakuntla Kavitha Arrested March 15, 2024 19:37

Breaking: Kalvakuntla Kavitha Arrested:- The recent arrest of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha in the alleged Delhi liquor scam case has sparked controversy and political speculations. Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following searches at her residence in Hyderabad. Her brother and BRS working president, KT Rama Rao, voiced concerns about the ED's actions, alleging a violation of its undertaking in the Supreme Court. The timing of Kavitha's arrest, just before the general elections, has raised suspicions of political motives, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) being accused of orchestrating a targeted move. BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne highlighted the ED's prior notices to Kavitha, suggesting a pattern of timing with significant political events. The ED's investigation into the alleged liquor scam involves allegations of kickbacks to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders for influence over the liquor business in Delhi. The arrest of Kavitha stemmed from revelations made by businessman Arun Ramchandran Pillai, who claimed to represent her interests in the case. The ED's scrutiny of the Delhi liquor policy scam and its implications for AAP leaders has intensified the political climate surrounding the issue. As the Election Commission of India prepares to announce the Lok Sabha poll schedule, the developments in Kavitha's case have further heightened tensions between political factions. The nexus between corruption, political influence, and business interests in the liquor industry underscores the complex dynamics at play in this unfolding saga. (Video Source: NTV Telugu)

ED and IT raids on Kalvakuntla Kavitha March 15, 2024 17:28

ED and IT raids on Kalvakuntla Kavitha:- As per the recent developments, the Enforcement Directorate carried out raids at the Hyderabad premises of BRS leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. The search operation was conducted by a team of 10 officers from Delhi, with a significant presence of police officials near Kavitha's residence during the raid. Income Tax officials were also present at the scene along with the ED team. Kalvakuntla Kavitha's name emerged in the Delhi excise policy scam investigation as ED uncovered her links to a 'south group' of liquor traders seeking to exploit the now-defunct policy for 2021-22. This is not the first time Kavitha has come under scrutiny, as she had previously avoided multiple summons issued by the agency. The ED first approached the BRS leader in 2023 regarding her alleged association with Vijay Nair, the communication head of AAP. Nair was reportedly involved with business figures from the liquor industry and politicians in the development and implementation of policies. Kavitha was presented with written statements from her former chartered accountant Butchibabu Gorantla and associate Arun Ramchandra Pillai, who highlighted her interactions with Nair and others. Butchibabu, who was arrested by the Central Board of Investigation earlier this year, disclosed in his statement to the ED that Kavitha had a political understanding with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. He noted a meeting between Kavitha and Vijay Nair in March 2021, where Nair allegedly tried to impress Kavitha with his influence over the policy decisions. These revelations indicate a complex web of relationships and dealings in the political and business spheres involving Kalvakuntla Kavitha and other influential figures, raising questions about potential misconduct and conflicts of interest. The ongoing investigations by enforcement agencies aim to uncover the truth behind these allegations and hold accountable those involved in any illicit activities. (Video Source: NTV Telugu)

Supreme Court Slams SBI For Not Sharing Complete Data March 15, 2024 16:18

Supreme Court Slams SBI For Not Sharing Complete Data:- The Supreme Court has taken a firm stance against the State Bank of India for withholding complete data on electoral bonds, a scheme that allowed anonymous donations to political parties. The court had previously invalidated the scheme and instructed SBI to disclose all donation details from the past 5 years. Responding to a petition from the Election Commission, the Supreme Court criticized SBI for providing incomplete information and demanded that the bank also reveal electoral bond numbers. The five-judge bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud emphasized the importance of transparency, stating that SBI must divulge the bond numbers as well. During the hearing, Chief Justice Chandrachud questioned SBI's representation and emphasized the necessity of disclosing all relevant information. The court has scheduled the next hearing for March 18 and has directed SBI to clarify the lapse in sharing complete data. The revelation of electoral bond numbers is crucial for establishing the connection between donors and political parties. Introduced by the BJP government in 2018, electoral bonds were intended to provide a transparent alternative to cash donations. However, the Supreme Court invalidated the scheme last month on constitutional grounds and raised concerns about potential quid pro quo arrangements. The court has urged SBI to cooperate fully with the Election Commission and disclose all details regarding the purchase and redemption of electoral bonds. The upcoming hearing will shed further light on the handling of electoral bond data and the implications for political funding transparency.

Telangana vehicles to have TG Registration from Today March 15, 2024 12:54

Telangana vehicles to have TG Registration from Today:- Starting from Friday, all vehicles registered in the state's 56 RTA offices will now have the 'TG' suffix. Currently, there are around 160,816,666 vehicles with TS registration. This change will result in increased revenue as there will be a high demand for fancy numbers during the bidding process. Last August, the highest bid for a fancy number was Rs 53,34,894. For example, TS 09 GC 9999 was sold for Rs 21.60 lakh and TS 09 GD 0009 went for Rs 10.5 lakh. Additionally, TS 09 GD 0001 was purchased for Rs 3.01 lakh. These numbers will now be repeated in the new TG series. Meanwhile, the RTA headquarters in Khairatabad were busy preparing for the launch of the TG series on Friday. A senior official mentioned that the entire process, including the bidding for fancy numbers, will remain unchanged. It will be a busy and exciting time for them from 8 am to 2 pm. In an interview, transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that this change aligns with the wishes of the people. It's worth noting that many individuals who fought for statehood have already switched their number plates to 'TG'. The TG legend became tiresome. Nevertheless, it was the result of the previous administration's wicked motives that vehicle registrations were altered to TS. Today, we are fulfilling the desires of the people by embracing the 'TG' suffix. (Video Source: V6 News Telugu)

Sensational comments from YS Vivekananda Reddy's Wife March 15, 2024 12:37

Sensational comments from YS Vivekananda Reddy's Wife:- Soubhagyamma, the wife of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy, has appealed to the voters to refrain from supporting YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. She expressed her agreement with her daughter Sunitha's plea to the public. Soubhagyamma expressed her distress over the chaotic state of affairs in the region. She also raised suspicions that Jagan may have been involved in her husband's murder. Soubhagyamma claimed that there is reason to believe that Jagan and his wife were aware of the incident even before it became public knowledge. Soubhagyamma questioned why Jagan did not visit Pulivendula when the news broke in the early morning. Moreover, she accused Y.S. Avinash Reddy, one of the accused in the murder case and a member of their family, of enjoying freedom due to Jagan's position of power. Soubhagyamma stated that when they sought justice after Jagan became the Chief Minister, he refused to speak privately and instead conversed with others present. She further claimed that Jagan even pointed fingers at her daughter and son-in-law. "It was only much later that we realized that our enemies were within our own home," Soubhagyamma remarked. She expressed disappointment that justice has yet to be served to her family, even after five years since Viveka's murder. Expressing her concerns, Soubhagyamma voiced her doubts about her husband's murder and questioned how Jagan could have been aware of the crime beforehand. As news of the murder spread, we hurriedly made our way from Hyderabad to Pulivendula. It struck her as odd that Jagan had not arrived in Pulivendula by evening, fueling further suspicions. She firmly believed that her husband was targeted for political reasons and expressed her dismay that while her daughter Sunitha tirelessly sought justice for the guilty, Jagan seemed to only add to her troubles instead of offering assistance. Soubhagyamma was deeply saddened to see Sunitha fighting this battle alone. She recalled how Viveka, her late husband, had aspired to see Jagan become the Chief Minister, highlighting the close bond between him and his brother, the former CM late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. "Our family was united until Rajasekhara Reddy's passing. It was only after his death that conspiracies began to unfold," she disclosed. Hoping for a capable leader in Andhra Pradesh who would make decisions in accordance with the Constitution, Soubhagyamma yearned for a brighter future for her state.
