The latest speculations are that YSR Congress party (YSRCP) Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is bent on stabilizing the party. Though it is fundamental that every party Chief would act similarly, modus operandi differs. This time the YSRCP would like to blend the party with support from all communities and caste, to get the winning combination for the forthcoming General Elections in 2014. In the process, the support from others was also equally good, say sources. Congress had support of Kapus and Reddys and the main opposition Telugu Desam Party had support from Kammas. The main feud did exist between the Kammas and the Kapus at the state level.

Initially YSRCP had tumultuous support from the Reddys and the main Reddy leaders of Congress and TDP defected to YSRCP. Then the turn of Kapus had come and YSRCP had good patronage from Congress, Alla Nani from Eluru was a classic example. It was speculated that YSRCP would takeover more leaders from Congress for wanting to have a wider Kapu base after the byelections. Probably the presence of Kapu Supremo Chiranjeevi in Congress denied YSRCP for more Kapu leaders into its thresholds.

However, the radar seems to have changed its course, with the defection of a strong Kamma TDP leader from Gudivada. The latest defection of Kodali Srivenkateshwar Rao alias Nani, the TDP legislator from Gudivada in Krishna district, into the YSRCP, is a strategic gain to the party. In this, YSRCP gains in many ways. The first one is, a solid Kamma support from the Krishna District. Second breaks the Kamma TDP jinx in the district, which was the forte of TDP. Third Mr Nani is a very close associate of NTR family and his defection seems get stuck in the throat of the TDP Supremo.

In one shot the YSRCP Supremo has garnered many gains. Very brilliant move by the party feel sources. Who add up that more defections, to garner Kamma support, is on the anvil. YSRCP playing business logics to politics unlike many who add politics to business. (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
