Karan Johar is all set to team up with Karan Malhotra again for Dharma Productions' next biggie - Shuddhi. Hrithik Roshan has been roped in to play the lead role. Kareena Kapoor will play his lead pair in the movie. Says KJo, "I'm excited to see Hrithik and Kareena back after 12 years." Kareena and Hrithik were last seen together in 2003 in Sooraj Barjatya's “Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon”. Over the years, both the actors have gone to establish their different foothold in the industry. While Karan doesn't deem it as a cop of sorts, he definitely feels that both these matured talents will bring the right amount of energy to the film. KJo says, "When Karan (Malhotra) came to me with Shuddhi, his desire was to cast Hrithik and Kareena. I spoke to both of them and they were happy to be on board. The film is an intense love story and because it has a reincarnation theme, he has written a script that is dramatic and outstanding. Also, such a theme requires actors who can bring the desired intensity. To me, it is really an important casting. But I don't look at it as a coup. Kareena is beautiful, talented and a powerhouse performer. And Hrithik, well, what can I say? He can melt a nation just with his eyes.'' (AW: Suchorita Dutta)

Akshay, wife in legal trouble for obscenity July 30, 2013 18:35

The Bombay High Court commanded the police officials to prosecute Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and his designer wife Twinkle Khanna for obscenity, while acquitting Abigail Rosa, the secretary of an event management company charged with scripting the alleged act. A case of obscenity was registered against the Bollywood couple way back in 2009 during the Lakme Fashion Week. Apparently, Akshay and Twinkle tipped off a hot controversy during a ramp walk when wife Twinkle unbuttoned his denim as a part of a gimmick. Doling out his verdict on the case, Justice Abhay Thipsay freed Abigail Rosa, secretary of the event management firm of all charges after realizing that she was not the one who scripted the “obscene act” and ordered the police to prosecute the actor couple and director of the fashion show instead. A complaint was lodged against the duo by a social activist with the Vakola Police Station on March 30, 2009. Abigail had filed a petition plea asking to be absolved from the case citing she was being falsely framed. She was arrested on August 25, 2009 and let out on bail for "inciting and abetting the actor's crime of obscenity." According to Abigail, “she was not connected with the show except for applying for a no objection certificate for the event from the police station and was discharging a purely secretarial function.” The FIR, however, named her as the organizer.
