Regardless of the commercial aspects, Kamal Haasan is such an actor, who do not mind to take any type of characters, if it has some variation. That is what made him what he is today. But his non commercial movies like Pothuraju, Eenadu etc, have very low attendance, however that did not worried the actor any day.

But it seems, actors like Surya is concerned of this point in particular and is concentrating on the variety entertainers like Kamal Haasan, but are even making sure that such movies do not lack commercial aspects.

Films like 7th sense, brothers, Masss and now the latest ‘24’ have come with the different concepts, elevating acting skills in Surya, and they have enough commercial elements too.

Even after taking enough care, unfortunately Surya continuously faced debacles, whenever he attempted a different subject, except Gajini. This is now showing a severe impact on his career and even hinting a threat to his image, because of the successes of his co-stars.

This is because, heroes like Surya has stuck in a Star image, which is like a over breathed Balloon (Don’t know when it bursts).

But Kamal Haasan never has that threat, as he only concerns about the role and not the success. Even the success rate never acts as the threat to Kamal, as he is not stuck in the so called ‘Star’ image.

How did Surya stuck in Star image then?

Along with experiments, Surya even manages to do social subjects like Singham series, which is a huge blockbuster one. A blockbuster to a Star hero will obviously raise his responsibility to give bigger blockbusters. Expecting such bigger hits with experiments is like throwing a needle in an ocean and searching for it.

Needle is definitely in the ocean, you may find it if you struggle, but don’t ask me after how many decades. 

How can Suriya’s situation be differentiated with Kamal Haasan’s?

Kamal is only stuck to experiments. He can even do big budgeted movies like Dasavatharam and also low budgeted experiments like discussed above. So naturally, the audience got an impression that, Kamal Haasan is concerned of experiments and expect the same from his every film.

What should Suriya do now?

Halting the journey on two boats - Experiments and social, as Surya already got huge Star image, it would be better if he only concentrate on social and heroic movies like Singham, to maintain his success rate and increase the Star image.
