The actor and singer added that he along with KS Chithra, his son Charan and organisers of his live show in the US all have been served notices by lawyers representing Raja.
SPB took to his Facebook feed giving details about the legality and proceedings. He said that he has sung Rajsa songs on earlier concerts but never faced a problem as this.
Balasubramanyam is currently on SPB50 tour to the US that started in August last year in Toronto. He confirmed receiving the notice and said "I would obey the law and will not sing Ilaiyaraaja's songs in my ongoing concert."
The duo has previously collaborated on many hits. Ilayaraja is yet to comment on the controversy.
This isn't first time, Ilaiyaraaja has claimed copyright over his songs. Previosuly in 2014, he had approached Madras High Court against five music companies. He had asked them not to sell his songs as only he has authority over his songs.
