Actor Akshay Kumar Visits BSF Camp in Jammu, Pays Tribute to Martyred Soldiers

Bollywood Khiladi, Akshay Kumar visited the BSF base camp in Jammu on Tuesday. There he paid tribute to soldiers who lost their lives in ceasefire violations and fight.

Addressing the army men at the venue, the actor got emotional and called them the real heroes. He said, “Fortunate that I got the opportunity to come and meet you. I have always said I’m a reel hero, you are the real hero.”

Akshay Kumar's father is also an army man. Earlier his father had donated Rs 9 lakh a martyred BSF jawan's family.

The jawan died after being spotted by Pakistani gunmen in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking about his work, he said then, “They are decorated with a lot of medals and that is good. But I looked at their faces. The same man was required for them but they need money too. You have to be practical. I thought how about giving them money and that is when I decided to give 5 lakhs to each family.”

During his movie Rustom promotions, Akshay had stated that his wish was to serve the nation but since fate had some other plans, he became an actor. However, the actor had stated that he is achieving his dreams through the silver screen.

On the work front, the actor is busy filming "Toilet Ek Prem Katha ". Actress Bhumi Pednekar is the female lead in his movie. Akshay also wrapped up the shoot of "Jolly LLB 2" with Huma Qureshi.
