Targeting the stars and celebrities like Mahesh Babu, Prakash Raj, Sachin Tendulkar, who are coming forward to adopt the villages, Ram Gopal Varma made the controversial comments.
A few days back, it was known that, Tollywood director Teja responded to the village adoption issue of the stars, criticizing them saying that, they are adopting the villages, only for some tax benefits from the government and nothing else.
However, the issue did not create much disturbance, as no star, including Mahesh took it serious. But now it is Ram Gopal Varma, who is one of the top directors of the country, commented on the village adoption issue.
Tweeting about this, RGV said that, adopting the villages, is insulting them. He asked all the villagers to boycott the celebrities from the village, who come to adopt. “No self respected villager will accept this kind of village adoption”, he added.
He even explained the issue with an example, saying that, how would it be, if a Hollywood actor come to India and say that he is going to adopt the country? Would not it be accepting ourselves that, India is an underdeveloped country?
Moreover, the stars are choosing the villages, as it sounds better and scenic. But no one thinks to adopt the dirty areas in Hyderabad like Dhoolpet. Why not stars think about the poor areas in the back lanes of Ameerpet? They are facing much adverse situation than the villagers. But no one comes forward for them.
Finally, RGV openly said to stop adopting the villages, as it would be insulting them, which even affects their self respect. Now it should be seen, how Mahesh and other stars reacts to RGV comments or asusual maintain silence.
