Glamorous aunties always paved success to Telugu movies and heroes. Even the stars crazily followed by fans also try to ensure it sometimes. Nadia became a most sought after aunty with Pawan Kalyan's "Attharintiki Daredi" in which she did justice to the role given to her. It is the second movie for her in an elderly role. She played mom to Prabhas in “Mirchi”.
The trend is not a new one. Heroines who come of age to become an aunty to a hero with their glam face intact always proved useful especially when they are teased by the heroes. Akkineni Nagarjuna teases Vanisri in “Allari Alludu” and Jaya Chitra in “Gharana Bullodu”. Jr NTR teases Ramya Krishna in “Na Alludu”. If we go back to 1962, NTR and ANR’s teasing and teaching a lesson to Gundamma (Suryakantham) in Gundamma Katha made the movie interesting and became a hit movie.
It is common that the elderly roles are played by the yester year heroines. But a relation between aunt and nephew is different for Telugu people as the flirting relation and sentimental bonds between Bava and Maradalu are romantically special.
