Ek Thi Daayan draws criticism from wiccan priestess

Producer Ekta Kapoor seems to be in soup with Kolkata base Wiccan priestess and social activists Ipsita complaining to the President against Ekta's recent flick, Ek Thi Daayan. The film's promos and other stuff including title give fair chance to speculate that it's against witches.

Ms Ipsita was actually invited by Ekta Kapoor for a promotional campaign on Friday. Ipsita refrained from the event and filed a petition before President Pranab Mukherjee. In her petition, she has mentioned that witches are shown in bad light in Ekta Kapoor's upcoming flick Ek Thi Daayan.

Ipsita even mentioned that such films should not be permitted to be released in India as the culture of tagging women as witches and burning them was still prevailing in rural areas. Further, she even expressed her astonishment as to how award winning actress Konkana Sen Sharma was acting in that movie.
