High on the itinerary this week is the release of the magnum opus from the stable of noted actor Dr Kamal Haasan. Kamal's Viswaroopam would be releasing across the world on January 25 amidst pomp and grandeur which begins with  labour pains for fans from today as the release approaches. This film would explore the avid talent of the muti-facted Kamal.

Viswaroopam is the first Indian film, and second film worldwide (after Red Tails), to utilize the new Auro 3D sound technology. It was made on a huge budget of Rs 150 crores and is sure to rake in Rs 350 crores globally. Even the DTH rights have been sold at whopping rates as the film would be premiered twice on February 02.

Initially the unit planned the DTH premier a day earlier but due to stiff opposition by the theatre owners association it would be released after a week of release. The trilingual flick would be released on the same title in Telugu and Tamil. However in Hindi would be released as Viswaroop.

The other lead in the cast are Pooja Kumar,  Andrea Jeremiah, Upendra, Rahul Bose and Jaideep Ahlawat. Another versatile actor Shekar Kapur dons a prominent role for the film.

Music is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and is produced by Raaj-Kamal International. It is written and directed by the stalwart Dr Kamal, himself. (Wishesh AarKay)
