Annapurna film school inks MoU with JNAFAU

Annapurna International School of Film and Media has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jawaharlal NEHRU Architecture and Fine Arts University for awarding degrees in film and media courses. It is known that Annapurna International School of Film and Media is run by Akkineni Nagarjun, the Tollywood hero. Adressing the media on the occasion of inking an MoU, Nagarjuna has said that their (institute's) prime motto was to train the creative minds. He has said that the institute has so far offered only diploma and certificate courses and it would hereafter offer degrees to its students.

It may be noted that as per UGC norms only universities can offer graduate degrees and institutes, shoudl therefore get affiliated to a university, in order to offer a degree course. Even prestigeous institutes such as IIMs and FTII (Pune) offer diploma and certificate courses since they are institutes that run under particular ministries.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna has also said that versatile artiste Shabana Azmi and noted choreographer Fara Khan have come forward to set up script writing school and dance school respectively that run under aegis of Annapurna's school.
