Dhoni, fifth financially valuable athlete

Popular magazine, Forbes has reported that Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the fifth most financially valuable athlete in the world valued at 21 million Dollars. Interestingly Dhoni has surpassed  biggies like Usain Bolt, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in this list.

Tennis legend Roger Federer and Gold player Tiger Woods tied at first position with 46 million Dollars each. LeBron James [Basketball], Phil Mickelson [Golf], Maria Sharapova [Tennis] followed the next positions with 27 million, 25 million and 23 million Dollars respectively.

MS Dhoni is the only Indian captain to have led the team in Twenty20 World Cup, ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy victories. Under Dhoni's captaincy, India also reached number spot in the Test rankings. With the recent win in Lord's stadium against England, Dhoni has achieved a rare feat of leading the country in the winning at the prestigious stadium after 28 years.
