Maxwell show, SunRisers lose first game

Glenn Maxwell of Punjab Kings Eleven scored an winning knock against Chennai Super Kings in their first match of the seventh edition of the IPL. Chennai who opted to bat first, posted a massive total of 205 runs in their 20 overs. McCullum and Smith scored half centuries and made an opening partnership of 123 runs.

However, it was Maxwell show who came at first down, when Punjab in reply to Chennai's total lost two early wickets. Maxwell along with Miller put up an 115 runs standing and chased the massive total with ease.

On other hand, Hyderabad SunRisers lost the first match to Rajasthan Royals. Batting first, SunRisers batsmen never looked comfortable against Rajasthan bowlers. They could manage only 133 runs for the lose of six wickets in their innings. SunRisers bowlers did a decent job, however Ajinkya Rahane stole the victory from them who batted brilliantly. Rahane along with Stuart Binny made sure Rajasthan chased the total with ease.
