India need 320 runs in two days

The first Test between India and New Zealand is turning out to be a nail biting conquest for the two teams as India need 320 runs in two days whereas the hosts need 9 wickets to win the Test and take lead in the series. Batting on the third day with overnight score, India were bowled out for 202 runs and New Zealand in their second innings faced the heat of Indian seamers.

Mohammed Shami and Zaheer Khan rattled the top order and Blackcaps were five down for just twenty five runs. But Ross Taylor managed to score runs and he is the only player to score above 20 runs in NZ's second innings while they were bowled out for 105 runs. Shami and Ishant took three wickets each and Zaheer took two, Jadeja picked one.

So India were posted a mammoth target of 407 runs in the fourth innings and again a bad start to it. Murali Vijay was dismissed for 13 runs and from then on Shikhar Dhawan, Pujara made sure no further loss in wickets for the day.

Score details: India 1st Innings 202, Rohit: 72, Wagner 4/64, NZ 2nd Innings 105 allout, Ross Taylor 41, Ishant 3/28, Shami 3/37, India 2nd Innings: 87/1, Shikhar 49*, Pujara 22*
