Cook rings English bells at Eden!

Day 3 was another nightmare for Team India on the third test match of the Ind vs Eng series at Eden Gardens Kolkata. Continuing from an over night score of 216 for one, under a brutal attack led by their skipper Alastair Cook, England scored 359/2.

Indians are desperately trying to control Cook who is on a rampage and romping away for a double century. Cook had scored 188 while his partner Jonathan Trent has scored 87 runs, when the Indians got a breakthrough in the form of Trents wicket.

However the team would have rejoiced more had they got the skipper's scalp.  In between them they have established a partnership of 173 runs. Trent scored his 13th Test fifty and 2nd against the hosts. For Cook it was his seventh 150 plus score and third against India.

Cook is presntly batting at 190 runs with 23 boundaries and two sixes in 361 balls and has made 23 centuries in total. The irony is that Cook was dropped twice by Pujara and Ishant Sharma when he was just 17 runs and later in 156. Keivin Peterson joins his skipper at the crease.

England team leads the hosts by 43 runs and probably well after scoring 600 plus score they might even think of declaring that could be some time around tomorrow afternoon. (Wishesh AarKay)
