Can India avert the shame of another loss?

The Poms have had a fantabulous day on the second day of the Ind vs England Third test at Eden Gardens Kolkata. Not only have they hammered Indian restricting them to a measly 316 while claiming wickets in rapid succession. They have managed to score over 200 on the same day losing just one wicket.

Skipper Alastair Cook had a few records to his name as he crossed the 7000 run mark apart from scoring 136 runs. Better yet, he is still on the crease. With great support from Nick Compton, who also managed half a ton, the partnership went very strong until a stunner from Pragnyan Ojha caught him leg before.

Indians have a daunting task ahead of their fatigued day after being thrashed. With neither the bowlers nor the batsmen performing well, Dhoni seemed disappointed at the lost opportunity to set higher targets. It is clear that the now trailing England will regain a strong footing with a large margin in no time.

Hope is all but lost for the Indian team though. It was on this very pitch that the South African team in 2010 were at 218/1 but the strong bowling team of India could send them back to the pavillion one after the other by the time they could cross the 300 mark. With England performing extremely well, India will have to attack with the ball to hide their faces from further shame at homeground. For further updates on the game, tune in tomorrow morning before the match.
