Will India take the helm today?

The day the "Blue" boys take revenge is here but will they avenge their debacle in England, in the last test when the home team trounced upon us with a more than satisfying 4-0 victory? We don't know yet but the initial developments suggest the reins are in our hands.

MS Dhoni, Indian Skipper, has been favored by luck after he won the toss and decided to give the ball a beating at the first test match at Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad.

India have a bowling force comprising of two pacers and two spinners which leaves out Harbhajan on the benches.

A game at home gives us an edge over them especially a better ground for the home team to avenge their 4-0 debacle in England.

In the warm-up matches, England had to face the mediocre spinners of the team except for Amit Mishra.

All said and done the team will have to perform on the batting front and keep up their performance.
However, the tactic will bear fruit only if the Indian batsman step up and perform to give India the much needed lead in the games.

The pitches re-laid recently before the monsoons are believed to be dry to the bone and will hence favor the spinners. Ashwin, Ojha and the rest of the spin maestros in the team would have to make the best of the pitches.

On the batting front, Chetheshwar Pujara, Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli bear the onus of keeping the team's hopes alive.

Teams:

India: MS Dhoni (Capt.), Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Cheteshwar Pujara, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, R Ashwin, Zaheer Khan, Umesh Yadav, Pragyan Ojha.

England: Alastair Cook (Capt.), Nick Compton, Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Samit Patel, Matt Prior, Stuart Broad, Tim Bresnan, Graeme Swann, James Anderson.
