Will Sachin beat Sunny's record?

It is well known that the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has all the feathers in the cap when it comes to records in the International Cricket but he is trailing behind Sunil Gavaskar when it comes to the First-class cricket. He is in within hands-reach of the final feather in his cap currently embellishing the rich cap of Sunny.

Sachin is only four tons shy of grabbing the record which is currently held by Sunil for the 81 first-class centuries and 25,843 runs in First-class cricket. Tendulkar is trailing behind with 78 centuries in the same category with a total score of 24,452 runs.

Sunny has played over 384 First-class matches while Sachin has achieved the feat with a modest 294 matches. However, Sachin has little time to catch up with his senior. By April next year, Sachin would blow 40 candles on his cake which could also mark his retirement probably.

Withing this short period of six months, he will have to score at least 1,383 runs and four centuries to out do the records of Sunil Gavaskar.

This probably indicates that he would take to First-class matches, to run closer to his record within the short time. It is also known that he has only eight test matches before they can reach the results.

Fans are now worried if he will have to retire without his final dream being fulfilled. Further anticipation rose after his performance in the last two years, only a single century was registered in a Test match. The last first-class century was back in 2009. Do you think he will leave cricket as the King of the game or will he still leave a few stones left unturned? Leave your opinions in the comments below.
