India vs England: Harbhajju rules

Cricket score for the first tough encounter in the T20 World Cup 2012, goes in favour of Team India. India vs England on Sunday was  a morale booster to the age-old spinner of Team India, Harbhajjan Singh. Bhajju had been criticized by the critics and neglected by the selectors for some time. He answers all critics with the leather in his hands, at Colombo. Bhajju claimed four wickets and ruined the English team, by claiming the 'Man of the Match' title. India beat their rivals by ninety runs.

England won the toss and put India to bat, a decision which would have been later regretted in the dressing room. India played a comfortable innings with Gautam Gambhir opening the bat with Irfan Pathan. Irfan faded to pressure and was out for just eight runs, to a ball by S Finn. But Gambhir along with Virat Kholi scored  45 and 40 runs respectively. However it was Rohit Sharma, who is just back in form, scored an indomitable fifty five runs. Rohit slammed a six and five boundaries to see India reach 170 for four in the stipulated twenty overs.

With the asking rate a little over eight runs, England came into bat with a weak heart, I suppose. The asking rate climbed higher when their first batsman Alex Hales was out in the last ball of the first over at 2/1. and the rest were in a hurry to go back to the dressing room to retire. Only the opener played somewhat significant innings by scoring 35 runs. Ultimately they wound up at 80 runs in the fifteenth over.

Standing tall was Harbhajjan Singh who captured four wickets of the oppositions. On the other hand Irfan Pathan and Piyush Chawla scalped two each. On the English side it was S Finn who claimed two wickets is worth mentioning. Team India which displayed utter team spirit at the venue on Sunday was far from being superior to the English team. With a good beginning the team must breeze its was in to the tourney.
