India conquers Kiwis at home, 2-0

Infact I felt that for once the fans back home had a glimpse of perfect team spirit in the India vs New Zealand series in India. The host team thoroughly dominated the series with a 2-0 win. And mind you it was ofcourse not a cake walk, the Kiwis were well equipped in both the departments and at times the fortune was on a roller coaster ride. However inspite of the top guns failing the young lot made the difference. At Hyderabad the victory was like taming a domestic animal but in Bengaluru the scene was totally different and was like taming a ferocious lion.

Yes the match that favored the home team had a tense climax on Monday. It was equally challenging like an interesting Bollywood pot boiler with its melodramatic ups and downs.  On the first day the Kiwis were in full control with their captain playing an anchor innings. On the second day their ferocity continued. As India came into bat on the second day their bowlers struck hard and India could just meet the target. However the third day was totally bowlers day with fourteen world greatest batsmen brought to their kneels. Both the sides bowlers made a tremendous impact. The match deciding day fourth day, yesterday was equally interesting too.

Cricket live score: New Zealand opened the match after winning the toss and made 365 in the first innings and in the second innings 248. On the other hand India scored 353 in the first innings and in the second innings 262/5 snatching a five wicket victory against the guests.

ICC Rankings: Magic bowler Ravinder Ashwin scores a better position in the ICC rankings announced yesterday from Dubai. He is ranked at 25th position after the Hyderabad test against the kiwis. This week he is sure to excel after his tremendous performance against New Zealand in the second test at Bengaluru. Another Indian bowler who played an winners role in the Hyderabad match Pragyan Ojha climbed to the 15th position. On the batting fronts MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli move up the rankings with    40th position and 49th position respectively. Sad news for the first time in the recent years master batsman Sachin Tendulkar has slowly moved out of top ten and is now at number 11 on the ICC rankings.
