Shri peetam pontiff  Paripoornandha Swamy has demanded the TTD authorities to protect the sanctity of Tirupati. He has questioned as to what government was doing when other religious' preachings were going on in Tirumala. He protested against the same in Tirupati today. Further, he even pressed the government to make Tirupati an exclusive Hindu pilgrimage centre just like how Vatican City and Mecca gave importance to the respective religions.

No religious preachings (other than Hindu preachings) should be conducted in 30 kilometre radius from Tirumala hills, demanded Paripoornananda Swamy.  He even said government should leave behind its reluctance and safeguard the interest of Hindu devotees. He even said government will have to face the wrath of the public in case Hindu's sentiments were not protected.  Public will teach a lesson to government in 2014 elections, he added.
