India doubles medals tally with silver gift from Sushil: London Olympics 2012

India's wrestler Sushil Kumar gifted a Silver medal to the nation of billions by claiming the silver at the 66kg free style wrestling at the London Olympics.  With this India gets  2 silver and 4 bronze and doubles its medals haul at the Beijing games in the last Olympics. At Beijing India claimed 1 gold and 2 bronze. India's flag bearer does proud to his nation and also hogs the limelight by setting a record for gaining back to back medals in two consecutive Olympics. At Beijing (2008) he managed a bronze. He raised the expectations of the nation for the gold in the next Olympics in 2016 at Rio de Janeiro.   However the gold has been eluding the nation at London Olympics 2012.

Sushil Kumar who was on the witch hunt for gold lost the final bout to Japan's Tatsuhiri Yonemitsu. The Japanese wrestler won 3-1 by defeating the Indian wrestler who was dehydrated under weather conditions at London, on Sunday at the ExCel Arena.

The 5 foot 5 inch tall, wrestler from Najafgarh in Haryana was suffering from a stomach issue and a dehydration problem as he set into wrestle the Japanese opponent. Sushil had a major setback at the ExCel Arena and had to be contended with just a silver. The wrestling coach Raj Singh and the Secretary General of the Indian Wrestling Federation confirmed that Sushil was troubled by a dine out at the arena after the semi final encounter.
