Ind vs SL: India to chase 252

Though Sri Lanka had a good start to the game at the R Premadasa Stadium in the fourth ODI, with openers Upul Tharanga and Tilakaratne Dilshan scoring 51 and 42 respectively, the final score was pegged at a just decent score of 251/8 after being effectively restricted by the Indian Leg-spinner Manoj Tiwary.

Sri Lanka had won the toss and elected to bat first had a good start to the game despite the disciplined attack from India. The bowling had restricted Sri Lanka from scoring runs initially but couldn't break the first partnership till 18 long overs.

Ashok Dinda was the first to give a breakthrough to Indian side by dismissing Dilshan who was caught behind the stumps. He was also kept 8 runs away from his half-ton.

Soon after Sri Lanka crossed the 100 mark, R Ashwin had claimed the wicket of Upul Tharanga at 51.

The innings went on fairly well with mutual assistance between Lahiru Thirimanne and Dinesh Chandimal, until Manoj Tiwary and Virendra Sehwag devastated their progress.

Mahela Jayawardane was dismissed by Sehwag only 3 runs after Manoj Tiwary had sent Dinesh Chandimal to the pavillion when the scorecard read 152 at 32 overs.

Manok Tiwary had struck with his brilliance again at 190 when the sixth blow landed on the Lankans with Angelo Mathews dismissal. Tiwary further slackened the momentum by taking the wickets of Jeevan Mendis and the then danger man Lahiru Thirimanne (47) one by one which ended the team at a respectable score of 251/8.
