Olympic opening ceremony censored

Censoring is not only restricted to filmy shows but has also been extended to the London Olympics 2012. Now the opening ceremony schedule is cut down by half an hour and the reasons assigned are security fears. Many interesting programs shall be cut down, say sources. The most prominent among them is involving daredevil flaming stunt bikes that has been axed altogether.

The main reasons being that the Olympic committee that met recently decided to cut the schedule as the security firm G4S failed to provide enough guards. Hence, the government felt it wise to bring in the army. A source close to the committee says, “The show has been cut because of fears that the checkpoints couldn’t cope with the huge rush in and out of the stadium.” Moreover, the pageant show by Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle will transform the Olympic Stadium into rolling British countryside, complete with live farmyard animals.

Hence, the committee felt that the logistics behind the whole exercise is time consuming and could be strenuous too. They hope cutting the running time down to three hours will help struggling G4S staff and troops cope with 80,000 fans, 16,000 athletes, 10,000 performers, 70 sheep, 12 horses, ten chickens, three cows, two goats, eight geese and three dogs.

Especially the issue has to be handled deftly as the show starts on a Friday weekend and if it does not wind up well before midnight then scores of participants and all others involved could be stranded at the stadium, feel sources. However it is painful for the rehearsed participants whose performance are cut down.  (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
