Yuvi back in preliminary squad for Twenty20 Championships

After winning the battle against the rare form of germ cell cancer, Yuvraj is now back on the Indian Squad to battle against the teams of the world in the World Twenty20 Championships to be held this September to October,  in Sri Lanka. Yuvraj has shown promising recuperation in his training sessions.

The veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh, who had not played any matches for quite some time had also made it to the squad.

The list announced by the secretary of the BCCI, Sanjay Jagdale has included potential youngsters like Naman Ojha, the much needed wicket-keeper and batsman and all rounder Mandeep Singh. Domestic veteran player, Ambati Rayudu, who earlier was a star in Mumbai Indians, IPL team was also picked up on to the list.

Laxmipathy Balaji, pace bowler, who had not played international cricket since 2009 was also chosen to be on the squad of 30 probables for the final squad.

Yuvraj, after his chemotherapy in USA had worked hard, practicing in the Bangalore National Cricket Academy. He had always thought of making a comeback to the international cricket with the Twenty20 world championship and he has made it through the first round successfully. The next test for him would be the toughest; to make it onto the final squad of 15.

Yuvi has amazed the crowd with his mindblowing six sixes in an over by Stuart Broad after being provoked by Andrew Flintoff against England in the last World Twenty20 Championships.

"I think a guy who has won the World Cup for us deserves to come back," were the words from the chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth.

The 30 member squad includes: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, R. Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Umesh Yadav, Ashok Dinda, Ajinkya Rahane, Manoj Tiwary, Rahul Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Mandeep Singh, Piyush Chawla, Ravindra Jadeja, Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Harbhajan Singh, Munaf Patel, Naman Ojha, Dinesh Karthik, Praveen Kumar, L Balaji.
