Sachin sells off gifted Ferrari to Surat man

SachinIndian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has sold off his 360 Modena Ferrari racing car to the Surat based business man Jayesh Desai, Chairman of Raj Hans group.

Declining to reveal the price, Desai said that he bought it from Sachin Tendulkar directly two weeks ago and was feeling great about it. “I bought it from the batting maestro and feel great about it,” he said in a media conference enthusiastically.

The car was gifted to Sachin by the Ferrari’s Formula One driver Michael Schumacher in 2002 at Silverstone in England on behalf of the Ferrari Company when the former equaled Don Bradman’s tally of 29 test centuries and became a brand ambassador for it.

In 2003, when the vehicle was ferried to India as a gift to him, Sachin applied for customs duty exemption of Rs.1.13 Cr and the Finance Ministry granted the exemption leading to a controversy.
