Li-Fi Faster and Cheaper than Wi-Fi

WiFi presently used for getting internet connection that is treated as the fastest mode to get connectivity is going to become obsolete with the new invention of LiFi by Chinese scientists.

Li-Fi will prove as an asset to the netizens as the data will pass at a speed of 150 megabits per second as explained by Chi Nan, Professor Information Technology, Fudan University at Shanghai who is heading the research team consisting of scientists from Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics.

The astonishing speed in the connectivity is, as Chi Nan revealed, because of the light used instead of radio frequencies.

Chi Nan said “As for cell phones, millions of base stations have been established around the world to strengthen the signal but most of the energy is consumed on their cooling systems.  The energy utilization rate is only 5 per cent."

Using the new technology of Li-Fi, four computers can be connected with internet with an LED bulb of 1W.
