Sixth sense or common sense?

According to a study out on Wednesday, birds sense posted speed limits on roads and respond to keep away from collisions. Researchers expressed that birds appear to have adapted to the local speed limits as a feature of their environment to mention, the risk of predators.

Mr Pierre Legagneux, a behavioural ecologist at the University of Quebec in Rimouski, told AFP, strict enforcement of speed limits could therefore significantly help accompanying conservation, especially for endangered species in populated areas.

Furthermore,  the lead researcher said in a telephone interview regarding the realisation that the birds were not reacting to the actual speed of the car, yet to the average speed of cars on these roads towards posted speed limits.
