Careful there with your Facebook pictures, they matter on your interviews

A new research has found that the presence of inappropriate pictures on Facebook may allow the interviewers to think twice on hiring you for a job.

According to the surveys, the number of employers how monitor the Facebook activity have increased largely. The social networking site has become a information hub revealing potential data regarding the lifestyle of the person, his attitude and his appearance which could all mean a lot to the job.

The employers are trying to decide of the person could be the right guy or not with such details screening the applicants, according to Daily Mail.

However, since the trend of screening by a background check on Facebook is new yet catching on, there are no guidelines as to what could lead to selection and what factors could drop you from the list. For now its the appearance on Facebook that would either impress them or discourage them from selecting you.

In interviews there were many employers from the fields such as information technology, healthcare and wellness, education, law enforcement, food and drink, travel, advertising and they all have hinted that this is a growing trend in the employment.

However, this would also raise several questions as the equl opportunity employment rights would be violated.

Though the facebook activity could be considered as a standard for the selection of candidates, Facebook has condemned such use as it is a violation of their terms of use and such use could also be subjected to legal action.
