In a twitter war with Bangladeshi fans, India's premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin jolts in his style.
Recently there has been a lot of debate regarding the playing time and opportunities of the associate nations of ICC, and Ashwin chose to stand beside Oman albeit, staying away from uttering controversial things about Bangladesh.
Tweeting on the issue, Ashwin took to his twitter handle, “Can't wait to see the Bangladesh v Oman game. If Bangladesh win, the whole country will be happy but if Oman does Cricket will be happy. #WT20”.
But are the consequences, the tweet faced later, can only be expected by Bangladesh, whose supporters would not even mind go to the extent of shaming a national captain like Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
“@ashwinravi99 I reckon you praying for Oman to win as you don't wanna face the Tigers!!!!" replied an insensitive Bangladeshi fan named Azad. However, just like he doesn't get bogged down by hard hitting batsmen, Ashwin shot back in the wittiest of ways. "@azad317 I wanted to archive your tweet,then thought for a minute and decided it might not be worth my time,” tweeted the tweaker.
Not stopping there, few other Bangladeshi fans have joined the fight to slam Ashwin. Undeterred by the situation, the offie kept getting the better of Twitterati with his calm and composed replies.
However expressing his sportive attitude, Ashwin was quick to praise Tamim Iqbal for his scintillating hundred against Oman.
Bangladesh comfortably progressed to the Super 10 stage and are clubbed in India's group. It will be interesting to see what happens when the two Asian nations face off on March 25th.
