Bandh complete in Telangana, partial in Hyderabad
Except in Hyderabad city, the Telangana region today witnessed a complete bandh following a call given by the Telangana political JAC for a one-day shutdown protesting against the police excesses on the first day of the 3-day rail roko agitation that began on Saturday.
While the RTC buses plied normally in Hyderabad, the bandh saw most of the RTC buses off the roads across Telangana towns. RTC officials withheld bus services to all major T towns from Hyderabad as a precautionary measure.
Because of the bandh, shops, business establishments, educational institutions petrol bunks and other organizations remained closed in all Telangana districts though normal life was not adversely affected in the twin cities. Auto rickshaws too remained off the roads in the Telangana districts except in Hyderabad.
Rail Roko cancelled
Because of the heavy police crack down and arrest of the T protestors and key leaders on the first day of the 3-day rail roko on Saturday, the railway authorities had restored the train services on Sunday itself as no protestors were seen on the railway tracks.
The JAC leaders had cancelled the third day of the rail roko today paving the way for the Railway authorities to restore all the train services to their normal positions.
Meanwhile, police are diverting Seema Andhra buses on the national high ways as the T agitators have resorted to Rasta Roko because of the bandh today.
