Live and let live is the phrase that reminds one on knowing about the Johnston family, who live in Barnesville, Georgia. Probably many would have read about 'Snow-white and the Seven Dwarfs.' Amber and Trent Johnston affected by a rare disease called Achondroplasia, which results in short-limbed dwarfism, dated for four years and then got married. Unperturbed by their disability, they set up a family for themselves. Their family consists of five children, including two biological and three adopted all suffering from the same disorder and dwarfish too.

Though Trent came from a background of dwarfs, Amber was from a full size family. Their first child was Jonah and the second one was Elizabeth. Later they adopted three children from different parts of the world - Ana from Siberia, Alex from South Korea and Emma from China. Normally dwarfs are ill-treated by people across the world, understanding the issue; the Johnstons decided to adopt them. They neither took loans or any hands out from the government for rearing their family. Amber was a normal home maker while Trent crafts pedal extensions for cars to help dwarfs drive. His main job is as the grounds supervisor at a local college. The Johnstons call themselves the 'real-life' seven dwarfs.

Though criticized or ridiculed by onlookers the family stays together unperturbed. On one occasion their child Elizabeth was bullied by co-students and called `midget’ while at school.
